The period ended tied with shots 14-7 in favor of the Royals.

Reading came out flying in the middle frame and it paid near immediate dividends. At 2:15, Domenic Monardo would give Reading a 2-1 lead. Streaking into the offensive zone on the far-side boards, he took a shot from an extreme angle that escaped Condon. 2:22 later, Denver Manderson, on loan from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton would tie the game. With Reading on the power play, Manderson would get a mini-breakaway and put a wrist shot from the top of the circle over Anderson’s shoulder. It was Manderson’s 4th of the season. The lone assist on the goal went to Stevenson. Reading would re-take the lead 9 minutes later on a breakaway goal by Sean Wiles. Assist to T.J. Syner and Ryan Cruthers.
