The WBS Penguins took on the Binghamton Senators tonight or should I say late this afternoon as it was a 4:05 start, the Penguins looking to better their weekend and the Senators looking to better their 7 game win streak.
The WBS penguins get on the board first tonight just over half way through the period Aton Zlobin would get the tally for the Pens putting out in front of the Senators 1-0. WBS looking a bit more energetic this afternoon compared to last night holding Binghamton to only six shots on net and Eric Hartzell stopping all of them.
Both sides getting some power play time but neither converting during the first period WBS had one attempt Bingo had two. WBS should have had three as we counted but referees Geno Binda and Pierre Lambert seemed to have blinders on
Second period brings bad and good to Binghamton as Sdao takes a shot to the hand and leaves the ice then Penguins Drazenovic scores putting the Pens up 2-0. The Good for Binghamton well they scored, as LeBlond sat for a double minor high stick penalty making it 2-1 Pens still leading.
Zack Torquato would give the Penguins some breathing room again with a tough angle shot making it two goal lead for WBS once again. At the end of two periods the Penguins were out shooting the Senators 20-17 and leading them 3-1.
Uher and Kramer get matching minors at the end of the second Uher draws a roughing and Kramer an unsportsmanlike starting the 3rd with some 4 on 4 hockey but neither side gets the advantage. Barry Goers nets his first AHL goal in the third period putting the Penguins up by 3 Penguins now lead the Senators 4-1 with just 12:25 to go in regulation.
That is how tonight’s contest would end, the WBS Penguins taking it to the Binghamton Senators beating them by a score of 4-1. Hee are some of the highlights from tonigh’s game
The next game the Penguins have will be against the Syracuse Crunch on Wednesday 1/8/14 see you at the Arena.
