Penguins Fall Short In Shootout Against Bears

It was a not so sweet time in chocolate town tonight for the WBS Penguins tonight as they dropped tonight’s game 2 to 1 in the shootout.

First period was a lot of action but no scoring, a total of 54 minutes total in penalties WBS did have a good look a few times once hitting the post on a two on one fast break. The boys were really mixing it up a lot of dancing going on this period everybody looking for a partner. Action filled yes scoring? No.

It wasn’t until 7:27 of the second frame that the scoring started as Barry Goers intercepted a pass fed the puck to Denver Manderson who got the shot on net , Leggio let out a fat Albert rebound and Mike Carman crashed the net to bang it home putting the Pens up one to none.

With just over seven minutes left in the second period the Bears even it up just like that. But WBS would get a glorious chance just after the Hershey goal as Jeff Taffe would sit for boarding.

Penguins get nothing out of the third power play but get handed another just as the third expires giving yet another chance, but again the Pens fail to convert. So far the penguins power play is 0 for 4 through the first two periods At the end of two everything is even at one.

The game remained tied through the end of regulation and headed for OT bit wasn’t going to end there no sir if you came to see this game you got your monies worth,as you always do with a WBS Vs. Hershey game. The score remained 1-1 through OT and headed for the Shootout.

Needless to say the Bears pulled out the win tonight but WBS didn’t go down easy Tom Kostopoulos netted one goal during the Shootout after the Bears pulled ahead but Leggio denied WBS’s Anton Zlobin on his attempt for the win.
