It was the Norfolk Admirals coming to town tonight not Santa Claus as the WBS Penguins looked to do battle just after the Christmas holiday. But it look is if some of the boys were still on hioliday tonight as the Admirals took it to the Penguins in front of a home crowd.
First period saw some good action tonight LeBlond and Stortini did a little dancing early on, both got in some great shots in actually wanted to give this one to LeBlond but had to score it even up.
The Admirals would get on the board first it would be Friberg putting the first tally in the net past Deslauriers giving Norfolk a 1-0 lead. Cramarossa and Thompson square off closing in on the end of the first Carmarossa draws an extra 10. At the end of the first Pens were trailing 1 – 0 behind Norfolk.
Second period didn’t start off any better than the first ended Norfolk’s Yonkman would give his team their second tally at 1:59 of the second giving WBS a deeper rut to crawl out of
Tom Kostopoulos would get WBS on the board just over five minutes later cutting Norfolk’s lead in half and giving the Pens a little mojo. At the end of two it was still 2-1 Norfolk but WBS was now out shooting the Admirals 21-17.
WBS had what little they had going for them after the Kostopoulos goal fade away in the third, turnovers and missed passes plagued the Penguins the entire game not to mention going 0 for 3 on the power play.
Norfolk would score in the third making it 3-1 with just over 2 minutes to play basically sealing the Penguins fate. That’s where it would stay through the buzzer Norfolk beating the Penguins s 3-1 in regulation. Here are some highlights from tonight’s game.
WBS travels to chocolate town to take on the Hershey Bears tomorrow night looking to get some points out of this weekend.
