Penguins Vs. Ducks tonight in the Burgh making for some foul weather, ok enough with the jokes. Penguins went almost the entire first period without a shot on net. Beau Bennett would get the first shot on net with less than two minutes left in the period getting bronx cheer from the crowd.
A fast paced first period the ducks getting the better of it if you go by shots on net but it looked even steven by the way they were playing, all in all a good first period seeing it ended even at zero.
Great to see Brian Gibbons finally getting a chance the guy sets the ice on fire in WBS always seems to be there no matter where the play is.
He is ranked third in the AHL in scoring with seven goals and 15 assists, and don’t forget that two of those were short handed goals. Dan Potash had a nice spot between the period with Brian.
The second period was much better for the Penguins on offense that is they got a lot more shots on net this period actually if you look at it it seemed to be a complete reversal of the first period Pens getting 12 shots to the Ducks 5 but still after two periods of play the score remained the same 0-0.
Penguins get a glorious chance in the beginning of the third period but just couldn’t find the handle to get it in the open net. the Brian Gibbons does what he does best and scores putting the Pens on the boards.

Sutter would get the Penguins second tally n a double deflection now 2-0 Penguins and by the way Gibbons gets an assist on this one, but the Ducks come right back as Ryan Getzlaf puts one past Fleury cutting the Penguins lead in half now 2-1 Penguins.
Penguins go up 3-1 as Sid the Kid does it again putting a nice wristshot past Fasth for the third Penguins goal. That would be it for this game the Penguins take control and never look back Brian Gibbons with another great showing something he has been doing all season here in WBS as well earns him the #1 star of the game. Penguins win tonight over the Ducks 3-1.
