Mannino Is On His Way Back To WBS

The WBS Penguins announced today that goaltender Peter Mannino has been recalled from loan from the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL all this happens on the way home from work, figures there is no way I can just pull over so it had to wait until now.

Mannino stopped 21-of-22 shots over two periods of play during the Nailers’ 4-3 preseason loss to the Fort Wayne Komets on Wednesday.  Signed by Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on July 24, the sixth-year pro went 10-7-0 in 20 games with the Manchester Monarchs last season, while recording a 2.47 goals against average and a .919 save percentage.

Mannino has played a total of 159 AHL contests between Bridgeport, Chicago, St. John’s, Portland and Manchester, and established a career record of 81-52-8 with four shutouts, a 2.83 GAA and a .905 save percentage.   The 29-year old has appeared in six NHL games with the New York Islanders, Atlanta Thrashers and Winnipeg Jets and also skated in 31 ECHL games with the Utah Grizzlies and Chicago Express.

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins take the ice for their home opener on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 7:05 p.m. as they face off against the Hershey Bears at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza.

About B.Pettit

Lead Journalist - Owner - Editor I developed PensFans4Ever back when the Penguins first came to Wilkes-Barre. It was started to keep the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins Fans along with the Pittsburgh Penguin Fans up to date with happenings as far as who is up and who is down. We Started out as just a message board where we would post news and information and other fans would post their feelings and any information they had. We then turned into a dot com and started making a true web site, at first it was just news, we incorporated a message board into the site. By the third year we added a chat feature. This enables the fans to gather in a live chat room during games that they can’t be at. We try to make it as informative as possible. Since everything that has happened to us we have turned our site into a blog but keeping with what we started out to do not just giving you our thoughts and interpretations we incorporate official team news and press releases.
