Despite Jokinen’s Hat Trick, Blue Jackets Take Pens

Jussi Jokinen had a great showing today scoring a natural hat trick not to mention the only goals scored by the Pittsburgh boys today against the Columbus Blue jackets as the Penguins fell 5 to 3.

Jokinen found some chemistry tonight on the Malkin Neal line especially during the second period, when Jussi made good on the chances that were created scoring the Natural Hat Trick.

MAF ( Fleury) had a decent game stopping 19 out of 23 shots on the same but different note the Penguins announced that Thomas Vokoun would be out indeffinately. This is because he underwent a procedure to dissolve a blood clot today.

This from the Pittsburgh web site

The Penguins announced after the game that goalie Tomas Vokoun underwent a procedure to dissolve a blood clot Saturday and is out indefinitely, putting more emphasis on Fleury heading into the regular season and with Jeff Zatkoffnow the backup goaltender.

Penguins general manager Ray Shero said Vokoun is resting comfortably. He also said he expects Fleury to face more pressure with Vokoun out.

“Tomas was undergoing the procedure during the game,” Shero said. “[Fleury's play] has been OK. It’s been a work in progress. If Tomas is out for a little while, it’s going to be a situation where Marc’s going to have to step up.”

We will keep Thomas in our thoughts and prayers for a speedy return. As for what is to come for the WBS Penguin Goalies now remains to be seen. Jeff Zatkoff who was the go to guy for WBS last season will be Fleury’s back up in the Burgh this is a good thing for him, now we just have to see if Mannino who was out most of last season for Manchester or Chiodo who was a fan favorite here in WBS   or Hartzell the rookie will be the go to man.

Well all in all wasn’t a bad game for Pitt tonight but Bobrovsky and the Blue Jackets just had a little better night Bobrovsky stopping 38 out 41 he saw downing the Penguins 5-3
