Penguins Drop First Pre-Season Game To Columbus

Was a good Pre-Season game tonight against Columbus MAF got the start for the Penguins stopping 10 of the 12 shots he saw Neal and Kobasew scored for the Pens. Kobasew on a PTO. Bennett getting some quality ice time tonight as well setting up Neals shot as well.

Nothing in the way of goals for the second frame but defense was doing the job for both sides

Third period Dustin Jeffrey would get a power play goal to put the Penguins up by one but Columbus wasn’t going away Ex-Penguin Mark Letestu would even things up putting the puck past Zatkoff then not even a minute later Atkinson would bury one putting the Blue Jackets ahead with just under twelve minutes to go.

Pittsburgh would get a chance to even it up on the power play just after the Atkinson goal and that they would as Kobasew would go on HTA netting his second of the night (on PTO) now even at 4 each with just over six minutes to go.

Malkin would go to the bin for slashing with 1:54 to play giving Columbus the chance to take the lead but Zatkoff comes up with a great toe save in the last seconds taking game numb er one of the Pre-Season to OT.

OT period goes almost to the end 21.2 seconds left as Murray puts the winning goal past Jeff Zatkoff giving Columbus the 5 to 4 OT pre-season win

On another note we have to mention the two fights tonight Payerl and Melart nothing exciting but it was there, Vitale and Wisniewski well that was a fight. Vitale didn’t get a good jump on it but good fight have to give that one to Wisniewski.
