WBS Comes Back, Now Winner Takes All Game 7 On The Line

It’s game 6 in Providence the Bruins looking to end this tonight WBS looking to even the series at three each. Great action from the strt tonight both sides getting some great chances but both Thiessen and Svedberg coming up big. WBS would get the first power play of the night but wouldn’t get things going and almost giving Providence the advantage with a few bad turnovers.

Later in the period there would be matching minors as Payerl goes for a dive and Tardif for a hook as the 4×4 gets going Dylan Reese gets called for interference creating a 4 on 3 power play for the Bruins, that’s how the first ends with :53 4×3 then 5×4 carry over to start the second.

Pens kill off all of the power plays the Bruins had but get caught on a sloppy line change Providence takes advantage and scores taking a 1-0 lead early in the second. WBS gets two back to back power plays a slight over lap to give WBS a short 5 x 3 early and Brian Doumolin makes it count just as it devolves to a 5on4 making it 1-1.

Penguins take a penalty behind the play Payerl sits for a rough WBS kills it off nicely. Penguins start to bring the pressure during the second but Providence met the intensity and even turned it up a notch out playing the Pens toward the end of the second. WBS almost seemed to run out of gas. With all the Providence was bringing the Penguins get called for a cross check Warren Peters puts his team down a man with :55 left in the second, but the Pens kill it looking at a 1:05 carry over for the start of the third.

Third period starts right where the second left off Providence on the power play the Bruins get some good chances but WBS kills it off. Providence has the petal to the metal from the get go the Penguins seem to be asleep at the wheel not getting a shot on met in the opening five minutes Thiessen doing all he can to keep his team alive.

At 7:03 of the third period the Penguins get a glorious chance on the power play as Bobby Robins clears the puck over the glass drawing a delay of game penalty.
WBS doesn’t do anything good with the power play but hang tight against this storming Providence team Pens not getting anything done offensively Thiessen with some amazing saves. WBS out shot for most of the game second and third period combined the Pens only had 5 shots to Providences 33.

OT starts with some good chances for the Bruins but WBS started to pick it up just 3:26 in the Penguins get what they needed a wrap around backhanded goal from Trevor Smith and the Penguins take game six. Now it’s in to game seven where its winner takes all.
