This afternoons game against the Hershey Bears at the Mohegan Sun Arena got off to a great start, that is for the Hershey bears as Dmitry Orlov opens up the scoring with a nice spin move putting the puck on net and giving the Bears a 1-0 lead early on. The Pens weren’t out of this game that easy, Paul Thompson gets a nice pass from Jayson Megna and ties things up at one with just under ten minutes left in the first period.
Six minutes later Brian Dumoulin scores the Pens second of the game on the power play making it a 2-1 game Penguins leading and things getting interesting. Thats were the score would stay heading for the dressing room for the first intermission WBS leading the Bears 2-1
3:43 into the second period the Penguins went up 3-1 with a nice feed from Trevor Smith to Chad Kolarik who was right where he needed to be to score and score he did. Hershey had a few chances this period but didn’t seem to get things dome even on the 5×3 power play they just couldn’t seem to find the right path. A decent period good kills by the Pens one goal heading for the second intermission leading the Bears 3-1 and looking at a carry over power play.
Just fifty eight seconds into the third period Kolarik goes on HTA as he scores his second of the game and the Pens fourth of the night now leading 4-1. The Bears dug in and mounted a comeback effort and score in the final ten minutes on a power Ryan Potulny makes it 4-2, nothing more dangerous than a two point hockey game. Peter LeBlanc scores then with just over six minutes left to play to make it 4-3, but that’s where it ended the boys held on for the win beating the Hershey Bears 4-3
