Penguins Find Victory In Shootout

The Penguins took a ride to Binghamton today to take on the Senators, the boys got off to a good start getting the first goal. Chad Kolarik got the puck in the neutral zone brought it in and stuffed it top shelf past Lawson making it one nothing Penguins.

Three minutes later almost to the second Bingo fires back making it a one to one game, on just their second shot of the game set up by a WBS defensive zone turnover.

The second period saw both sides trading power plays but neither side converting that is until halfway through the second period that Chad Kolarik took a shot from the point that was tipped home by Trevor Smith giving the Pens the 2-1 lead. WBS took two late penalties giving the Senators just six seconds shy of a five on three power play to start the third period.

WBS Penalty Kill holds up keeping the one point lead. Pens grant falls down the senators get a nice pass to the slot and a nice snapshot makes it two all.

Holzapfel gets hit with a high stick drawing a two minute power play New sits for Binghamton Pens looking for a go ahead goal. Just as the power play winds up Reese takes a tripping penalty making it 4×4 hockey then a short power play for Binghamton, and the pens kill it.

Regulation ends WBS taking one point as does Binghamton but the Pens need the win tonight to help them in the points race as Hershey creeps up on them.

OT period comes and goes with no real developments so for the second time in two nights the Pens head to the shootout, but this time the Penguins would prevail. WBS takes the Senators 3-2 and get that great second point on the game.
