Tonight’s game between the WBS Penguins and the Worcester Sharks didn’t go as well as the Penguins planned. Worcester would get the first power play of the game but the WBS penalty kill would do the job keeping the Pens within striking distance. Both side would exchange power plays but nothing really happening, the Pens would be given a great chance for a first period power play goal as they come upon a 1:47 5 on 3 but couldn’t even get the puck in the zone or at least that’s how it seemed. So the first come to a halt looking at two big zeros on the board.
Second period tonight well lets just say if this was a heavy weight boxing match the judges would have scored this round for the Sharks. Worcester scored two power play goals the first just :16 in on a carry over power play as Paul Thompson was in the bin for a late first period slash. Worcester’s second power play goal would come just three seconds shy of exactly 16 minutes from their first power play goal as Riley Holzapfel would be sitting for a hook nearing the end of the second period.
WBS Penguins get a glorious chance just over six minutes into the third period as Worcester gives them a power play being down 2-0 at this point the boys could pull within one goal or so it would seem, but first there is the problem of getting the pick in the zone. Needless to say anymore the Pens didn’t convert. WBS would give Worcester yet another chance on the power play and the Sharks would take advantage making it 3-0 and putting the Penguins in a hole. Joe Morrow would put one on net and Warren Peters tip it in finally putting the Pens on the boards now 3-1.
Worcester would score again not even a minute later makimg it now 4-1 in favor of the Sharks and then again on, yep you guessed it the power play the Sharks strike again making it 5-1 Sharks That’s where it would sit til the end, the Sharks taking a bite out of the Penguins beating them 5-1 in regulation
