Delmas Earns ECHL Award Named Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week

Peter Delmas of the Wheeling Nailers is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for March 4-10. It is the second time this season, and the fourth time in his career, that Delmas has won the weekly honor.

The 23-year-old went 2-0-1 with a 1.30 goals-against average and a save percentage of .957 in three appearances last week as the Nailers improved to 4-0-2 in their last six games.

Delmas made 37 saves in a 2-1 shootout loss against Elmira on Wednesday, stopped 20 shots in a 5-2 win at Trenton on Friday and made 33 saves in a 3-1 victory at Reading on Saturday.

A native of Bedford, Nova Scotia, Delmas has started each of Wheeling’s last five games, going 4-0-1, with a 1.58 goals-against average and a .941 save percentage. Overall this season, he has appeared in 27 games posting a record of 15-8-7 with three shutouts, and is sixth in the league with a 2.29 goals-against average and is tied for fifth with a .920 save percentage.

Under contract to the Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League, Delmas has appeared in 88 career games with?Wheeling with an overall record of 48-28-9 with an all-time team record nine shutouts, a 2.31 goals-against average and a save percentage of .920.
