Bears Growl Past Penguins

It was the Hershey Bears coming to Wilkes-Barre tonight to take on the WBS Penguins.

Hershey earns the first power play of the game but the WBS PK holds none the less Hershey would tally three goals on the Penguins ultimately causing Brad Theissen to get yanked and Jeff Zatkoff to take his place. Bobby Farnham would get ten minutes in the bin on a misconduct. Kostopoulos would tally a WBS power play goal making it 3-1 at the end of one.

During the second period the WBS Penguins would get their second goal of the game a nice shot by Joey Mormina from just inside the blue line narrowing the Hershey lead to one goal now just 3-2 Hershey.

That’s where things would stand heading off the ice for the second intermission WBS Penguins out shooting the Bears at this point 25-11 considering shots were even at nine a piece last break not a bad thing.

WBS got three power plays in the third period to Hershey’s two but would make no use of them total for the game was 1/3 not a bad showing just not there when they really needed it.

Rob Belardi added a note tonight that Zatkoff switched out of his throw back pads to his everyday whites but it didn’t seem to help.

About B.Pettit

Lead Journalist - Owner - Editor I developed PensFans4Ever back when the Penguins first came to Wilkes-Barre. It was started to keep the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins Fans along with the Pittsburgh Penguin Fans up to date with happenings as far as who is up and who is down. We Started out as just a message board where we would post news and information and other fans would post their feelings and any information they had. We then turned into a dot com and started making a true web site, at first it was just news, we incorporated a message board into the site. By the third year we added a chat feature. This enables the fans to gather in a live chat room during games that they can’t be at. We try to make it as informative as possible. Since everything that has happened to us we have turned our site into a blog but keeping with what we started out to do not just giving you our thoughts and interpretations we incorporate official team news and press releases.
