WBS gives up the first two power plays to the Phantoms one turned into a five on three just after the five on three decays to a five on four Brad Thiessen loses site of the puck it squirts out to the Phantoms and Noebels puts it home making it one nothing Phantoms.
WBS gets two power plays in the fir5st and both get matching minors at the end of the first second period would start with some 4 on 4 hockey.
Second got underway with the carryover 4×4 but no help for the Pens. WBS limited the Phantoms to 3 shots on net for the second period had three fights
TK being one of them something I said I didnt think would happen but it did. Farnham and Samuelson also had dance partners but definitely weren’t the leaders. Thiessen had some nice saves on some not so nice breakaways keeping the Pens in this game.
It wasn’t until just over thirteen minutes into third period that the Penguins would get what they needed not one but two goals back to back to put them up 2-1 with less then five minutes left in regulation. Bobby Farnham would get the Pens on the boards to tie things up then Brian Gibbons picks up Megna’s rebound and puts it in the net behind Cal Heeter, who by the way was having a great game. Adirondack loaded up and went for the comeback but WBS held them for the win. A nice road win at the Wells Fargo Center makes for a nice rice home.
John Hynes said after the game that the difference in the last couple games was the mind set, not becoming frustrated and raising the teams level of compete over that of the other team.
