Penguins Fall To Admirals 1-0

WBS Power Play Goes 0-8

Norfolk came to WBS to take on the Penguins tonight in front of a sparse crowd at the Mohegan Sun Arena.

First period action sees Norfolk getting the first power play of the game as Trevor Smith would sit for an interference call giving the Admirals a great chance early on but the PK holds them off.

Sill would sit in the bin for a slash WBS Penalty Kill on the ice again giving Norfolk another shot at getting on the board first but again the WBS penalty kill comes through.

Hendry holds Kostopoulos giving WBS their first power play of the game but they only get one good set up and wouldn’t convert, but get a second chance as the period comes to an end as Luca Caputi gets called for tripping creating a two minute carry over power play for the Penguins.

Second period starts with WBS on the power play bit despite the two minute carry over they do not score. Second power play of the period as Chris Wagner sits for a trip but no goal some nice chances but Igor Bobkov keeps it 0-0.

Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond sits for a hook giving WBS another power play chance with no conversion Penguins are now 0-4 on the power play tonight. Gibbons gets run into the end boards and Matt Clark goes to the box WBS power play on ice on w again but Norfolk kills it then gets called for too many men giving WBS back to back power plays but again the Pens come up short. Needless to say the second ends still 0-0

Norfolk strikes first in the third period as Matt Irwin puts it in thought there should have been a crease violation but no call. WBS gets a power play chance as Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond in the bin again this time holding but once again they come up short.

Trevor smith gets called for a rough and interference nor folks called for a rough giving Norfolk a power play but WBS kills it. Grant gets taken down with what looked like an elbow Payerl and Clark dance earn fight majors.

With just over a minute to play the WBS Penguins call a time out looking for a play Norfolk holds them off takes a time out of their own and holds them to a 1-0 loss.

WBS went 0-8 on the power play tonight not a good thing had some good looks but just couldn’t find the right shots.
