Penguins Get OT Win Over Bears

Penguins traveled to Chocolate town this afternoon to take on the Hershey Bears. The first meeting since the comeback OT win the WBS Penguins had at the outdoor classic.

Things started out as usual against the Bears , tempers were short fans on edge and play is fast paced. Bobby Farnham and Steve Oleksy do a dance have to score it for Farnham as if you couldn’t guess why. First period comes to a close 0-0 looking toward the second.

sat in the box, but Sabourin held tight for the Bears keeping it even at zero.

Just after the WBS Power Play ends Zach Sill and Steve MacIntyre put a hit on Steve Oleksy Mac would get called for a double minor unsportsmanlike and charging putting the Bears on the power play for four minutes.

Bears score as Boyd Kane puts one past Zatkoff on the power play making it 1-0 Hershey but the penguins bring the pressure right back.

Third period carries on both sides seeing some chances but Zatkoff and Sabourin keeping things out. Uher and Syner get matching minors creating some 4 on 4 open ice hockey.

Jeff taffe put warren peters into the wall hard Peters made his way to the bench seeming ok.

Penguins hack and wack bodies all over and with just under eight minutes left WBS scores making it one all Riley Holzapfel gets credit for the tally.

Just after the goal WBS goes on the power play as Zatkoff gets interfered with putting the Pens on the power play but can’t convert

Matching minors are handed to Peters and Kalinski for roughing just as Gibbons was getting called for goal tender interference creating a WBS Penalty Kill. Pens kill it score remains 1-1 with less than a minute left in regulation. That would be the end fans WBS rallied back to tie it up once again in Hershey forcing OT and earning one point for regulation

WBS Penguins almost score on a breakaway as Kolarik came in on Sabourin but shot it wide. At 3:45 of OT Hershey’s Kane says something to the ref and gets called for a technical giving WBS a glorious power play.

Chad Kolarik would get the overtime goal making it two, one Penguins Almost a perfect re- creation of the outdoor classic just a few weeks ago. The Penguins next game is against Norfolk at the Scope should be a good game booster club as a trip going to be a lot of Penguins fans there.
