Whale Beach Penguins

Connecticut gets on the board first with a power-play goal about :35 after the power play started  Thiessen doing a great job so far keeping the game a one point game.

WBS Penguins not getting any power play chances but had some nice chances even strength at the end of one period it is WBS 0 whale 1

Second gets going WBS Penguins would get their first power play of the game as Parlett heads off for holding at 1:42 but could not generate the goal despite getting four shots on net.

Thiessen and  Morrow get their signals crossed leaving the puck sitting in comes who puts it past an out of position  Thiessen into the net making it two nothing  Connecticut.

Penguins get a good chance as the Whale sit Pyett for interference but WBS can’t convert that’s 0 for 2 this period on the power play for the WBS Penguins.

Third gets going  and  Gibbons gets called for a hook giving Connecticut another chance to score  WBS Penalty Kill holds keeping it 2-0 Hartford  with the WBS Penguins trying to catch up now with only nine and a half minutes to do so.

Not a lot of special teams action for this meeting Hartford gets  two chances in the second frame making good on one of them Kyle Jean would tally both goals for his team putting him on HTA. WBS not able to convert any of their three  power plays.

With just :35 to play the Penguins lose the face off Hartford ices the puck with the subsequent face off WBS gets a chance Trevor Smith is shut down no goals. That would be the game fans WBS Penguins out shooting the whale 35 to 18 but losing 2-0 tuff tuff way to go for the Pens coming off the shutout last night against the Worcester Sharks.
