Thiessen Shuts Out Sharks

WBS Penguins on the boards first  as Ben Ferriero gets a rebound goal
putting the Pens up one nothing early. WBS goes on the power play as the Sharks  Tennyson sits for interference.

Bobby Farnham plays a clear by the Sharks costing the WBS Pens a too many men on the ice penalty and Farnham would serve it.  WBS PK holds keeping 1-0 Penguins.

WBS goes on the PK as  Bennett gets called for high stick, from where I sit the hit looked good  Bennett argued a little but lost and the Pens killed it.  WBS Penguins get a carry over power play as the Sharks take an interference penalty with one second to go in the first period.

Sharks kill the WBS Power Play but later Riley Holzapfel skates in and roofs a nice snap shot making it two nothing Pens. Warren Peters gets the Pens third goal cherry picking as Tangradi puts it through the crease now three nothing WBS.

Bennett sits for a high stick this time for real and the Pens kill the penalty. More penalties both sides end up with 4 on 4 play at the end of the second even a short WBS Power Play  with no advantage coming out of it.

Penguins start the third in defensive mode something Pens fans know too well but after a Tangradi penalty the boys killed it seem to kick them into offense mode.  Joe Morrow with a flubbed shot gave Worcester a nice rush but the Pens brought it right back.

A lot of good action right down to the wire tonight, was surprised to see the Sharks not pull the goalie nearing the end of regulation but time to time you do see that. Anyway the WBS Penguins take tonight’s game 3-0 giving WBS net minder Brad Thiessen a nice shutout victory and hopefully snapping the Penguins streak.
