Angelidis and Sill go just six seconds into the game from what it sounded like I am going to give the edge to sill on this one. MacIntyre gets run into the boards from behind by Korobov putting the pens on a WBS Power Play and pitting a bulls eye on Korobov’s back.
Syracuse scores and the Teddy bears fly with 5:25 left in the first period it would be an even strength goal, looked as if it might get waived but the official ruling stands 1-0 Syracuse.
Second period starts and WBS gives the Crunch a power play as Thompson sits for Goaltender interference. Penguins would kill the power play keeping within one goal of the Crunch. WBS Penguins having trouble getting the puck moving in the right direction Syracuse seeming to have their number defensively.
Bortuzzo gets called for a cross check putting the crunch on a power play and the ever dangerous Syracuse Crunch hit the mark scoring another power play goal making it 2-0
Syracuse rings one off the cross bar on a turnover by WBS it gets reviewed but remains no goal, one good thing for the WBS Penguins in this period so far.
Pens Smith heads for the box for high sticking putting the Crunch on their third power play of this second round and the WBS Penalty Kill would kill it again. WBS with a lot of turnovers this period something they really need to settle down
WBS comes out for the third looking to even things up looking good for the first shift. WBS gets a power play as Syracuse’s Connolly takes a seat for a bench minor delay of game Ferriero getting a great chance but Tokarski keeps it a goose egg on the scoreboard for the pens.
Zach Sill turns it over puts it right on the stick of Pierre-Cedric Labrie who puts it past Thiessen making it 3-0 Syracuse, then the Crunch would give WBS another power play this one is interference that’s five so far and again Syracuse would kill it.
Samuelsson would sit for interference giving the Syracuse Crunch another power play and 1-2-3 they would score making it a 4-0 game. Joe Morrow and Cory Conacher would do a dance this one was about even both drawing 5 for fighting.
This being the fifth loss for WBS the most so far in a row this season and three of these losses are to New York teams if that has any type of twist to it.
WBS is in a rut right now looking to find a way out, it happens from time to time you just have to hope they can find the recipe to bring themselves out of it. As I used to tell my wrestlers when I was coaching, a Coach can teach you everything but the will to win must come from inside. I think our boys just need to dig deep and realize they are a good team and can get back where they belong they just have to believe.
