Nailers Host Penguins Ice Crew and Iceberg Friday

The Wheeling Nailers, proud ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Montreal Canadiens, are excited to announce a fantastic promotion for an upcoming home game. On Friday, December 7th, the Nailers will welcome the Penguins Ice Crew, as well as Pittsburgh’s mascot, Iceburgh, while they play host to the Florida Everblades at 7:00.

Pittsburgh’s mascot and ice crew will be making an appearance in Wheeling for the second consecutive season, after joining the Nailers for their celebration of Penguins Weekend last January at WesBanco Arena. The Penguins Ice Crew will be sigining autographs in teh front lobby of the arena from 6pm until face-off whe the will be helping to clean the ice during each of the media stoppages, while also throwing t-shirts into the crowd. Iceburgh will be joining Spike and Buck on the ice, while also being available for photographs around the concourse.

The appearance of IceBurgh and the Penguins Ice Crew will be part of a jam packed game full of fun on December 7th, which also includes the annual Teddy Bear Toss. Fans are encouraged to bring a new or gently used teddy bear or stuffed animal to the game, which they will then throw onto the ice, after the Nailers score their first goal of the game. The stuffed animals will be donated to children in the area for the holidays. The first head-to-head matchup with the Everblades will also feature Military Appreciation and Frosty Friday.

Friday, December 7th will serve as the first of nine home games in December for the Nailers. Other December promotions include: Thunderstix Giveaway (12/8), Ski Cap Giveaway (12/15), Skate With the Nailers & Family Four Pack (12/16), Two for Tuesday (12/18), Educational School Day (12/19), End of the World Night (12/21), Holiday Bank Giveaway (12/22), and Cow Bell Giveaway (12/31).
