The game opened with the Senators getting what looked like it was goig to be a great start on the Penguins but it soon changed to both sides getting some great looks and some great chances Lehner and Zatkoff doing a great job at keep thier teams alive.
The second period started with some 4 on 4 hockey as Paul Thompson and Mike Hoffman sat for slashing, just as things started again the Pens went down yet another man as Brian Strait went to the box for tripping making it a short 4 on 3 for Binghamton then a 5 on 4 for just over a minute, but the WBS PK would hold and keep it 0-0.
WBS goes on the power play at 14:21 looking to get the first score of the game and ended up drawing a second penalty making it a 5 on 3 as Mark Borowiecki sat for 4 minute double minor for high sticking, the 5 on 3 went to 5 on 4 then full strength and Binghamton killed it off.
The second period would end the same as the first period 0-0 but again both sides getting some great chances and both goalies keeping the net empty.
Early in the third our new PTO Bobby Farnham gets tangled with Bingo’s net minder causing a little melee drawing a 2 for roughing and 2 for goaltender interference giving Binghamton a power play pens kill it keeping it 0-0.
WBS would take a slash giving bingo yet another power play Gibbons would be the man in the box, And they would kill again. Gibbons would redeem himself later in the period as he would make a nice play ending up in the net but saving a late third period goal by Binghamton. Down to the buzzer both teams really getting after it and Zatkoff really coming up big at times end of regulation Penguins 0 Binghamton 0.
OT pens getting some nice set ups. Dumoulin takes a hard hit but play goes on. With one minute to go in ot the face off is to the left of Zatkoff Penguins draw the penalty giving them a 46 second power play but no goal looking to the Shootout.
Needless to say that would be the ball game WBS would take the Senators in the shootout , yep a shootout win for WBS beatiing the Senators 1-0.
