Penguins Aren’t Sea Sheppard’s, Taking Out The Whale

The WBS Penguins went Whaling tonight as they took on the Connecticut Whale in The XL Center Veterans Memorial Coliseum. WBS got the first power play of the night coming on a Deveaux hook setting the stage for Jason Williams to get the Pens on the board with a nice feed from Colin McDonald.

Less than a minute after the Williams goal Ben Street would put in the Penguins second of the night with a nice wrist shot past Chad Johnson giving the Pens something they haven’t had in a while a nice two goal lead and a lift of their spirits.

Cody Wild would get the Penguins third of the period and first of the season making it three nothing Penguins all before the ten minute mark of the first period, again something that has been lacking from the Penguins the last few games.

Chad Johnson would get the hook and Cameron Talbot would come in for the Whale but the damage was done. The boys looked good tonight from what I gathered on the radio would have been a great game to go to from what it sounded like.

I forgot to mention that Steve MacIntyre sat in the first period and the Pens had to kill of a double minor for high sticking but they came out of it without a scratch, thank god. Anyway that was the ball game most of the action was in the first period, however both sides did see some chances in the other periods Scott Munroe doing a great job at keeping the Whale out of the net.
