Penguins Out Flanked Again By Admirals

Good energy and flow to today’s game against the Norfolk Admirals Penguins getting some great chances but Dustin Tokarski keeping them out early. Joey Mormina hands out a great hit on Eric Neilson , Neilson probably going to be looking for a even up later in the game.

WBS Pens go on the power play just past the half way mark of the period, the boys never really got it set up Norfolk doing a good job at killing it. Just as the penalty expired Brandon DeFazio had a nice shot but Tokarski again made the save.

Patrick Killeen getting the start today because of the call up and injury doing a great job in net keeping the Admirals out the entire first period.

Penguins get a nice second period goal but it got waved off because of a goaltender interference penalty called on Ryan Craig then as the Pens face off Tyler Johnson got called for tripping. As the penalty expires Geoff Walker destroyed Jeff Dimmen and Pierre-Cedric Labrie came over to hit Walker drawing an interference penalty putting the Pens on the power play once again.

As the Pens were coming off one power play Brian Gibbons gets hit hard from behind drawing a cross-checking penalty giving the Penguins back to back power plays and this one would do it for the Pens Ben Street would get the first of the game now 1-0 WBS. Williams would get called for a hook with less than five minutes left in the second Penguins looking to kill this to keep the lead but Mark Barberio would put it past Patrick Killeen glove side making it 1-1 during the play Sill tried to play the body and got called for roughing putting Norfolk on the power play again this time the pens kill it.

Norfolk would score just over four minutes into the third period putting them on top of the Pens 2-1but not for long as Alexandre Picard would take a tripping penalty putting the Pens on a power play creating a paradox where Alexandre Picard would smoke one into the net at 11:50 making it a 2-2 game and all of a sudden things are different, the Penguins look a little more alive and the crowd is back into the game.

Norfolk would score again just about eight minutes later making it 3-2 and that’s the ball game fans the Pens would rally but just not get it done .
